S Tel introduces ‘Talk Today, Free Tomorrow’ offer
S Tel launched an innovative and simple plan, “Talk Today, Free Tomorrow” (TTFT) for its consumers in Orrisa. Priced at Rs. 19, the TTFT plan allows customers to enjoy as many free local minutes the next day as are utilized by them today. Consumers will be informed through an SMS regarding the FREE minutes available to him/her every day. Alternatively, customers can also check their free local balance at any point by dialing *118# from their mobile phones. The pack comes with a validity of 30 days and the offer becomes active immediately on purchase.
Announcing the launch of the product at a press conference in the city, Mr. Shamik Das, Chief Executive Officer, S Tel said, “S Tel prides itself in being able to identify and cater to the unaddressed needs of the communities and offer relevant products and services. The ‘Talk Today, Free Tomorrow’ plan is our endeavor to encourage the mobile users to stay connected with their near & dear ones throughout the day…for days…”
Commenting on company’s reach and expansion plans for Odisha market, Mr. Das said, “We are excited to have garnered nearly half a million subscribers in the region and continue to witness an encouraging growth. Since S Tel first began services in Odisha in December 2010, we have made our services available in 42 towns and 3200 villagesacross the state with our state of art, 3G ready networks of 900 towers. We plan to further scale up our presence in the state and aim to cover 100 towns and 6500 villages in a year’s time, thereby spanning 70% of the towns in the circle. To meet this goal we will be installing another 900 towers by June 2011,” he added.
Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Rourkela, Berhampore, Balasore, Bhadrak, Sambalpur and Paradeep are some key locations among the 42 towns in which S Tel’s services can be accessed presently.
Commenting on the product, Mr. Balwinder Chawla, Chief Operating Officer, Odisha circle said, “We expect TTFT to be popular with customers who have moderate to heavy mobile usage. These customers are often confused by plethora of plans in the market and hidden clauses that attempt to provide reduced call rates but in effect make them pay more. If the caller translates the minutes earned everyday into the effective call rate applicable to him, he will find TTFT to be the most affordable plan available for local calling in Odisha market at this point. Considering that the bulk of calls made by users in Odisha are local, we anticipate this plan will see huge customer traction.”
“S Tel pioneered the practice of providing bulk minutes on purchase of an STV (Special Tariff Voucher) wherein it offered first of its kind daily, monthly and yearly bulk minute plans for low, mid and high user segments. TTFT is yet another offering aligned to this concept. Presently, S Tel also offers tariffs of STD @ 40p/min across India and ISD @ 5p/sec to top international destinations.”
S Tel offers a bouquet of competitively priced VAS services on both, SMS and voice platform. Its premium SMS alerts come at just Re. 1 / SMS. Consumers can also access voice portal services focused on mobile education, exam results, government jobs, etc at this same price point. To continue with its focus on core regional offerings, the company will launch Oriya voice portal by end of this month. It will extend mobile commerce solutions such as railway & air ticketing, mobile wallet as well as innovative regional social networking platforms to its audience in Oriya in second quarter of this financial year.
S Tel’s message to the Odisha “Apanakara nijara phone”is aligned to its brand philosophy of understanding the needs of local people and speaking their language.
