Recently Nokia has introduced its Ovi Browser beta for Series 40 mobile phones. As per Nokia betalabs, Ovi Browser will use Internet compression technology to delivers advanced web pages on mobile phone. This patented technology will compress the data usage by 90% and will give a quality browsing experience as pages will appear faster than ever. Ovi browser’s innovative user interface will enable easy and fast access to favorite content right from start page, thus user will be relived from menu hunting.
Nokia’s Ovi Browser is in beta stage and can be downloaded from browser.ovi.com. However, presently its only available for following Nokia’s Series 40 mobile phones. 2700 Classic, 2730 Classic, 3120 Classic, 3600 Slide, 5130 XpressMusic, 5220 Xpressmusic, 5310 XpressMusic, 5330 Mobile TV Edition, 5330 Xpressmusic, 5610, 6300i, 6303, 6500 Slide, 6500 Classic, 6600 Slide, 6700 Classic, 7210 Supernova, 7900 Prism and X3.
Nokia mentions on its betalabs blog that company is in process of setting up global infrastructure and commercial rollout of Ovi browser will only be early next year with added improvements. Features like improved local search, personalization and extended support for majority of local languages and markets are on cards.
