BSNL offers free 3G data card with new advance rental tariff plans in Kolkata
State run telecom PSU BSNL has introduced new tariff plans to promote 3G data card in Kolkata circle. Under these new tariff plans BSNL is going to provide 3G data card free of charge on advance rental payments of certain period . This new scheme is applicable for both prepaid and postpaid customers of 3G data card. Similar offers have also been introduced earlier by Tata Teleservices for Tata Photon+ and Vodafone for its 3G USB stick. Such offers lock the customers for longer period of time which is quite challenging in the current scenario of intense competition. Also 3G roll out from private operators is expected by the end of the year which will make things difficult for existing 3G players BSNL and MTNL. BSNL has introduced three new offers under this scheme both for prepaid and postpaid which will provide free 3G data card to the customers. Prepaid offers come in the form of First Recharge Coupon which are available only through C-Top Up. This is a promotional offer valid till 29th Oct 2010. 3G USB data card from BSNL offers download speed of 3.6 Mbps speed
Prepaid FRC of Rs 9735 will offer 2GB per month free data usage with a validity of 15 months while FRC of 9990 will provide 10 GB per month data usage for a period of 10 months. FRC of Rs 9996 is unlimited data usage pack with validity of 4 months.

Advance payment of Rs 9735 offers 2GB free data usage every month for a period of 15 months.Fixed montly rental of this pack is Rs 649 which is applicable after 15 month period. Second plan under this scheme has a advance rental payment of Rs 9990 which offers 10GB free data usage per month for a period of 10 months. Monthly rental in this plan comes to Rs 999 after a period of 10 months. Last plan is unlimited plan which offers free unlimited data usage per month for 4 month period. Monthly rental in this plan is Rs 2499 applicable after 4 month period.
