3G launch by private players is around the corner.Once that takes off,Tata photon and other wireless high speed data card service providers will get competition. Tata Photon which has already run a successful spree by aquring huge market share in the category wishes to rope in major chunk of market. In order to woo the customers and to erase the expensive tag,Tata photon is running nice outdoor and web ads promoting its unlimited plans offer.Tata Photon offers EVDO based data cards which gives highspeed wireless internet access. It gives download speed upto 3.1 Mbps which is quite close to the 3G data speed.So in a way Tata photon,Reliance Netconnect,and MTS have already given product to Indian people which is quite similar to 3G wireless broadband.

Tata Photon unlimited plans are good one in wireless high speed data card category though it has fair usage policy. Unlimited plans on prepaid start @Rs.700 and in postpaid @ Rs.950. These unlimited plans have some data download limit beyond which the data speed will be reduced but the customers would be able to surf internet at the speed of 155Kbps.

Tata Photon Unlimited Plans – Prepaid 

• Beyond the Bundled Usage, Unlimited Usage will be available at speeds up to 155 Kbps
• Data Usage refers to total data transfer (Upload + Download).

 Tata Photon  Unlimited Plans – Postpaid with Cash Back Offer

• The Bill Value Discounts are applicable only for first 13 months from the date of activation.
• The free unutilized data usage cannot be carried forward to the next month.
• Voice calls & SMS will be barred on the Photon Plus device.
• Service tax at applicable rates and any other applicable government levies will be charged extra.
• Data Usage refers to total data transfer (Upload + Download).

Reload Packs

• The Reload packs are available for Photon Plus customers on Data based plans. They help a customer to retain High Speed for the current Bill Cycle post Bundled Usage/Bill Capping.
• These packs can be opted for in addition to the existing tariff at any time during the bill cycle.
• Post consumption of Bundled Usage and Speed Booster Pack Usage, Speed will be throttled as per plan till the new Bill Cycle starts.
• Validity and Bundled Usage of the Add on expires with the bill cycle. It cannot be carried forward to the next bill cycle.
• The customer has an option to buy the pack till the last day of the bill cycle. However the validity will expire with the end of Bill Cycle.
