Two state run telecom PSUs have huge telecom training infrastructure spread across the cities in India. Falling revenues and profit from telecom services have compelled different non core units to function like profit center and hunt for revenue generation opportunities. With this objective the training centres of these two PSUs are offering summer trainings to engineering students on payment basis.
As per some sources , last year BSNL had imparted such training to more than 26000 students and earned Rs. 6.3 crores revenue. Encouraged with this ,the company eyes more revenue this year with focussed plans. MTNL , which has two training centres located at Delhi & Mumbai, too has plans to attract students for summer training. BSNL has total 42 training centres scattered across the important cities in India.
MTNL is charging Rs.5000 to Rs.15000 per student depending on the duration of the course at its Delhi Training centre located at Shadipur. The details are as given below:
Given the depleting financial conditions and the fixed cost associated with training establishments, looking for revenue generation opportunities from outside is a logical step. The training centers will be able to garner handsome revenue as the summer trainings are the compulsory part of curriculum and the number of engineering colleges have mushroomed all across.
