Idea Cellular continues to strengthen its position on MNP turf as its  net gain has crossed 20.68 lakh customers till  31^st Dec’11. Idea Cellular’s net gain of MNP customers increased from 17.26 lakh in Nov to more than 20 lakh in Dec. Vodafone’s net gain has reached 13.64 lakh customers  in Dec’11. Idea Cellular and Vodafone are the only two operators which are continuously winning mobile customers month on month from their counterparts while Airtel and Aircel which were initially having substantial net gain are witnessing declining trend in MNP. Airtel which once had net gain of more than 7 lakh customers has for the first time witnessed net loss of 13535 customers in Dec’11. Similarly Aircel was having net gain of MNP customers till Oct’11 but in Dec its net loss stands at 78000.

CDMA customers have been the most active base when it comes to MNP as more and more CDMA customers are switching to GSM operators. Reliance CDMA and Tata CDMA services have suffered combined loss of  more than 17.55 lakh customers in MNP till Dec’11.
