Mahanager Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) is all set to redefine its Broadband Services in Mumbai. MTNL has announced massive tariff upgrades for its Broadband Internet service in Mumbai. From 26th Janauary’2012 MTNL Broadband will offer commitment of minimum download speed upto 512Kbps. Download speed of existing Unlimited 395 plan and Unlimited Combo 495 Broadband plans will be upgraded from existing 384 Kbps to 512 Kbps. Another Unlimited 599 Broadband plan will be upgraded to offer download speed upto 752 Kbps. MTNL also offers Bill-Cap Freedom plans which gives benefit of unlimited Internet access after Bill-Cap limit of Rs.999. The two plans in this category viz. Freedom-297 and Freedom-497 will now offer unlimited internet access after Bill-Cap at download speed upto 512 Kbps compared to earlier 256Kbps. MTNL recently introduced Broadband Xpress Unlimited plans offering 2Mbps download speed upto some data level and decreased speed afterwards. The Express Unlimited 600 plan which offers download speed of 2Mbps upto 8GB, and 256 Kbps afterwards is revised to offer 512 Kbps download speed after 8GB usage. MTNL has also introduced non-combo version of Express Unlimited plans for customers who want to retain their existing landline plan and still want benefit of Express Broadband plans.

MTNL Mumbai New Broadband Plans

Apart from these upgrades MTNL has introduced four new Broadband plans in Mumbai – Express Unlimited 2000, Unlimited 995 Combo, DSL 250 and DSL 450. Express Unlimited 2000 plan (combo and non-Combo) will offer download speed of 2Mbps upto 150GB and 1Mbps afterwards. Broadband Unlimited 995 Combo plan will offer unlimited Broadband access at download speed upto 1Mbps. Customers choosing Unlimited 995 Combo plan will get a rent free Landline connection , 25 free calls every month and additional calls will be charged at Rs.1 per pulse. The DSL-250 Broadband plan will provide free data usage of 1GB per month and data usage charges will be 50p/MB. The DSL-450 Broadband plan will provide free data usage of 3GB per month and data usage charges will be 30p/MB.

MTNL has also decided to reduce One-time installation testing charges of Rs.300 for new Broadband connections. Currently installation and testing charge is waived off till 31st Jan’2012. The reduced installation and testing charge of Rs. 200 will be applicable from 1st Feb’2012.

MTNL has closed few of its existing Broadband plans which are DSL Trib49, DSL 200P, DSL 399, TriB 599, DSL 749, DSL Unlimted 749, DSL-249-Combo, DSL Combo B 499 & DSL Combo 500.

MTNL Broadband Tariff for Mumbai effective from 26th January’2012
