Airtel all set to implement Full Mobile Number Portability

Bharti Airtel has announced that it is all set to introduce all India mobile number portability along with other customer centric initiative from 3rd July 2015. Currently MNP is allowed within the same circle and implementation of national MNP got delayed because of technical issues. But now Airtel and all other mobile operators are all set to implement national MNP across the all circles except  J&K, Assam and North East owing to security reasons. Port-in requests within Airtel network i.e Airtel number of one circle to Airtel’s network in another circle will be processed within 24 hours. Airtel is also offering free incoming on roaming while their request is processed and it will also provide transfer of prepaid balance and carry forward facility for postpaid unbilled/billed amount.

Ajai Puri, Director – Market Operations said, “Today, not only has mobile phone become an essential part of our lives, the mobile number has equally become an indispensable identification for each one of us. With our complete readiness to launch National Mobile Number Portability, we aim to empower customers enabling them to retain this identity as they move across anywhere in the country. To facilitate a seamless transition we will also allow our customers to enjoy free incoming on roaming while their number portability request is being processed.”
