MTNL Mumbai has revised its Broadband tariff plans effective from coming 1st August’13. The 2Mbps Xpress unlimited plans and FTTH Thrill Plans with fair usage capping has been revised for speed after fair usage limit. Now customers in these plans will get 512Kbps upload and download post fair usage limit.
TRAI, Indian telecom regulator finally decided to nail down Broadband service providers performing poorly towards service parameters. The regulator has now decided to impose penalty on ISPs who fail to meet these QoS benchmark parameters. The penalty will be Rs. 50,000 per parameter and rupees 1 Lakh per parameter for second or subsequent such contravention.
MTNL Mumbai is all set to increase its broadband tariffs for its customers in Mumbai circle. Company in its recent tariff notice published in newspapers, notified the tariff increase for existing Broadband customers in four plans viz. Unlimited 395, Unlimited Combo 495, Xpress Unlimited 600 and Xpress Unlimited 750 ( combo and non combo).
With a view to promote online booking channel , MTNL Delhi is offering discount of Rs.200 out of the registration charges of Rs.500 . So the customers booking a MTNL landline or Landline -Broadband combo will have to pay Rs.300 only at the time of booking

TRAI in its recent directive issued to all the telecom service providers providing broadband services, directed to be transparent with their Unlimited plans controlled through Fair Usage Policy (FUP). All most all ISPs in India are offering High Speed Broadband plans with unlimited usage. However, these plans are controlled by ISPs self defined Fair Usage Policy (FUP) which regulates and downgrads the Broadband speed after a certain Data Transfer limit.
BSNL is all set to initiate major technology upgrade plan for its Exchanges across the Country. To start with, BSNL in coordination with Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) has upgraded the First Rural Exchange Center at Kittur from C-DOT RAX to MAX-NG.
