India’s total telecom base (wired+wireless) jumped by 5.86 mn to cross 121 cr with teledensity of 93.98 in the month of Jun’17.

Indian teledensity has reached 78.71 at the end of April 2012 as per latest data released by TRAI. Total subscriber base has crossed 952.91mn with wireless base reaching to 921.02 mn Total Wireless subscriber base increased from 919.17 Million in March 2012 to 921.02 Million at the end of April 2012, registering a growth of 0.20%. The share of Urban Subscriber has decreased from 64.83 % to 64.54% where as share of Rural Subscribers has increased from 35.17% to 35.46%. The overall wireless Tele density in India reaches 76.07.
India’s wireless base has jumped to 752.19 mn in Dec 2010 registering 3.10% growth over Nov ’10. With this overall wireless teledensity has now touched 63.22. But accorsing to the latest VLR data released by TRAI only 70% of 752.19 mn are active connections which translates to 529.21 mn. Airtel and Idea Cellular have maximum numbers of active mobile connections with 91.79 % and 90.04% of their total
